About Beyond Mirrors Press

Beyond Mirrors Press is an independent publishing house founded on the simple belief that stories can change the way we see the world, and one another.

Our name draws inspiration from the French philosopher Simone Weil's understanding of attention as a way of looking beyond ourselves, of becoming more fully aware of other people, their experiences, and the world we share.

We believe fiction offers a powerful way to cultivate that attention. Through compelling characters and extraordinary circumstances, stories invite us to confront questions that rarely have easy answers: What do we do with power? When does influence become manipulation? What does restraint require of us? How do loss, belonging, and the choices we make shape who we become?

But stories should never feel like lessons in disguise. First and foremost, we believe in the pleasure of reading: the suspense, wonder, humor, and emotional connection that make us turn the page. The ideas matter because the stories matter.

Our debut novel, The Mind Raider, introduces a world in which extraordinary abilities bring young people face-to-face with questions of power, identity, responsibility, and the difficult choices that define them.

Beyond publishing, we hope to connect with educators, librarians, and community organizations who believe in the power of storytelling to spark curiosity, conversation, and meaningful engagement with the world.

We publish stories that draw readers in and invite them to look beyond the mirror.
